We have had no problems at all with it. This product has worked flawlessly and is dramatically better than our previous, much cheaper, conference phone.
We have analog lines so that was not an issue. It is a shame that the company does NOT provide this critical key piece of information. We haven't even used it but are returning it.
It worked fine when I hooked to our fax line. I think this is true of ALL of their products. But NO dial tone when hooked to any other phone jack in our building.
I purchased this unit plus the additional microphones and it is a great unit with a good price. And, this unit cannot work on a multi-line system. For the cost of the equipment, this should be disclosed.
None of the literature on this site or even on the Polycom site explains that it will ONLY work on a single phone line. However like any business, we have multiple lines.
I would estimate that between several departments, we use it dailyPolycom SoundStation2 Expandable Conference Phone (2200-16200-001). The Polycom Soundstaton 2 with two extra mics allows audio conferencing that is user-friendly, quick to set-up and an efficient tool.
Otherwise, no one would be able to tell you're on speaker. First, outstanding speaker phone and tool. Highly recommend this product. Even with a bit of an echo, the transmitted sound/voice is clear and never muffled. We have not purchased the additional mics, therefore I can't speak to whether or not that would remove any resonant sound. As previously stated, you will have no problem hearing the people on the other end as the sound is crystal clear. To be fair, I have found the sound you transmit will be influenced heavily by the acoustics of the room the device is in. If you have a slight echo in the room or office, that will translate via the mic for a hollow or barrel sound on the other end.
The products have always worked well for our needs. We have another polycom that has been demoted to our smaller conf room.
